Heres a little bank holiday treat for you – French toast! You can chuck this together in minutes and have it with so many treats.
Serves 1 – 10 minutes
- 2 thick slices of bread – slightly stale is just as good
- 2 eggs
- splash of milk
- pinch of cinnamon
- vanilla extract/essence – optional
- butter for cooking
- 4 slices of streaky bacon
- drizzle of honey or maple syrup
Slide your bacon under the grill then crack on with your french toast.
In a mixing bowl whisk together your eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla. Dunk your bread in so that it soaks up all the mix.
Melt some butter in a non-stick pan and slide in your soaked bread, cook for 2-3 minutes on both sides until nice and golden.
Plate up your toast, top with your bacon and drizzle over the honey.
*N.B skip the bacon and whack on some jam or yoghurt and berries.
